- Conor LaMere Added 14/06/2018★ ★ ★ ★ ★I have camped there several times during my years as a scout. It is a Scouting Ireland camping site, and as such only scouting organisations are allowed to camp there.
It is less than 40 minutes from Mount Melleray, another camping site at the base of the Knockmealdown mountains. This walking path is incredibly scenic, due to reparations in recent years, and is open to the public. I would strongly recommend visiting the area.
The camping grounds itself consists of a campfire pit; a lodge with running water, toilets, showers, electricity and a stove; a large field to pitch tents and a surrounding woods to do backwoods activities.
If you are reading this review to decide whether or not to camp there then I must say I cannot recommend it enough. It is a central location for activities like camping, hiking, kayaking (Cappoquin), backwoods, pioneering and much more.
